Angela Curtis

Angela Curtis is a Registered Psychologist with AHPRA and a member of the Australian Psychological Association. Angela has worked in private practice in Sydney and London and has extensive experience in school settings and providing telehealth to people in rural and remote locations. Angela has a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) from the University of Sydney, a Masters of Social Psychology from the London School of Economics, a Masters of Psychological Counselling from London Metropolitan University and a Masters in Social Change and Development from the University of Newcastle.
Angela employs the positive psychology framework to help people to identify their strengths and values while teaching effective coping strategies including mindfulness across all age groups.
Angela has extensive training in evidence-based approaches including Mindfulness Integrated CBT (MiCBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Schema Therapy and Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
She has experience in facilitating resilience and anxiety-based groups to children, adolescents and adults including Link3d Up (adolescents), Connect 3, Bright Thinking and Yoga for Calm Kids (8-12-year-olds) and Retrain Your Brain (adults). Specific research interests include the effectiveness of mindfulness meditation (MiCBT) and yoga-based interventions for adolescents and adults. Angela has a particular interest in working with adolescent girls with anxiety, low self-esteem and body image issues.
