Angela Curtis - Registered Psychologist

Angela Curtis is a Registered Psychologist (AHPRA) and member of the Australian Psychological Society with more than a decade of experience supporting children, adolescents, adults, and couples.

She is passionate about helping people heal from adversity, strengthen relationships, and create meaningful change at every stage of life.

Angela has worked extensively across private practice, schools, outreach services, and telehealth, both in Australia and internationally, including in Sydney and London.

Her diverse experience enables her to work flexibly with individuals, couples, and families from a wide range of backgrounds, including those living in rural and remote communities.

Angela is particularly recognised for her specialist work in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) with children, adolescents, and adults.

She supports clients experiencing trauma, PTSD, attachment wounds, anxiety, grief, relationship difficulties, and the lasting effects of childhood adversity.

Her approach is neurodiversity-affirming and sensitive to the unique needs of autistic and ADHD individuals, integrating evidence-based trauma treatment with a deep understanding of developmental and relational factors.

Alongside her trauma work, Angela is an experienced couples therapist, helping partners reconnect, rebuild trust, improve communication, and navigate life transitions.

Drawing on the Gottman Method, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and the MyLove YourLove® framework, she works with couples to strengthen emotional bonds and create healthier, more secure relationships.

Angela has a particular passion for working across the lifespan. She supports young children through play-based and creative approaches, guides adolescents through identity, emotional, and social challenges, and assists adults in overcoming anxiety, burnout, trauma, and relationship concerns.

Her work is grounded in the belief that healing occurs within safe, attuned relationships and that every person possesses the capacity for growth and resilience.

Her therapeutic style integrates mind and body, incorporating mindfulness, meditation, therapeutic yoga, and nervous system regulation strategies to promote lasting emotional wellbeing.

Angela also facilitates group programs for children, teenagers, and adults focused on resilience, emotional regulation, anxiety management, and mind-body awareness.

Angela is trained in a broad range of evidence-based modalities, including EMDR, CBT, MiCBT, ACT, DBT, Schema Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Solution-Focused Therapy, and couples therapy, working from a strengths-based and positive psychology framework to help clients build fulfilling and connected lives.

Angela holds a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology and Japanese) from the University of Sydney, a Master of Social Psychology from the London School of Economics, a Master of Psychological Counselling from London Metropolitan University, and a Master of Social Change and Development from the University of Newcastle.
